Is this you?

You might be our next instructor if…

  • You're into tech — coding, robotics, game design, AI — and love showing others how it works.
  • You paint, draw, dance, or make music, and want to spark that creativity in kids.
  • You play chess and enjoy teaching strategy and patience.
  • You're a teacher or tutor who knows the NYS ELA, Math, or Science tests and helps kids feel confident on test day.
  • You're a college student, artist, or professional looking for meaningful afternoon work.
  • You speak Spanish? Even better — many of our families do.
You don't need a teaching degree for enrichment classes. If you know your stuff and enjoy kids, we'll help with the rest.

FAQ

Questions? We've got answers.

Do I need teaching experience?
Not for enrichment classes (STEM, arts, chess). If you know your subject and enjoy kids, we’ll help with the teaching part. Test prep instructors need tutoring or teaching experience.
Is this a job or contractor work?
It’s independent contractor (1099) work. You choose your days; once you sign, those hours are guaranteed for the term.
When and how do I get paid?
Every week, on Friday, by direct deposit — directly from Minds at Play.
Do I need my own materials?
No. We already have laptops and materials. If you think something is missing, suggest it and we’ll try to provide it. Bring your own gear if you want to.
Can I teach more than one area?
Yes. Many instructors combine subjects.
I’m a college student — can I apply?
Yes. Afternoon hours fit well around classes.
What ages will I teach?
K–8, usually in small groups of 8–12 students.
